About Wokingham Residents
A group of local residents campaigning for a stronger voice in the decisions that shape our borough.
Who We Are
Wokingham Residents is an independent, community-led group set up by local people who care about how our neighbourhoods develop. We are not affiliated with any political party.
We got started because too many decisions were being made without residents having a meaningful chance to be heard — and we believe that has to change.
Our first campaign calls on Wokingham Borough Council to introduce a borough-wide Article 4 Direction, so that new Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) conversions are subject to proper planning scrutiny before they happen, not after.
What We Do
Research the Issues
We look into local planning applications, Council policy and Local Plan documents so residents have clear, accurate information.
Organise Residents
We give residents a simple way to add their voice through petitions, so the scale of local concern is visible and hard to ignore.
Engage the Council
We present resident signatures and evidence directly to Wokingham Borough Council as part of its formal decision-making process.
